What does it feel like on your first day being drafted into the NBA? How does it feel right after you've been drafted onto a Division I NCAA team?
Through special arrangements we've made with your favorite teams in your favorite sports, now you can in a way never seen before. Emily Fulford (a former hockey goalie), poses as a newly drafted athlete...who has never played the sport before and must learn to keep up while learning.
Emily Fulford is a veteran broadcaster and collegiate-level hockey goalie who trained with former NHL St. Louis Blues goaltender Rick Heinz, who also trained extensively with Ottawa 67s veteran Dan Tessier. She has worked in television since 1998. Combining her skills as a goaltender with her speed and accuracy with network camera turrets, she turned heads as a top hockey camera operator and producer covering OHL hockey for Rogers. One of the first female sports camera operators in Canada and one of a handful with high level goaltending experience, the only other sport that captures her heart as much as hockey is Major League Baseball.
Cory is a competitive dragonboat racer, producer and host who began his career at CTV in Ottawa in commercial production at just 16 years old. He was the youngest producer ever to spearhead commercial content for the network in that capacity. He honed his skills as a producer while working with the CTV network. He attended the prestigious Classical Animation program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, and has been profiled in American and Canadian media publications. He was nominated by Ottawa Life magazine as one of the Top 15 People to watch in the Capital. Bilingual, he has also worked extensively in French-language television in Quebec, directed the official music video of La Tete En L'air for Quebec supergroup KAIN and the album launch broadcast of Dany Bédar's On a tous une histoire à conter at L'Astral Montreal . A lifelong NCAA basketball fan, he bleeds Orange. A die-hard fan of the Syracuse Orange since age 8, witnessed the 1996 Syracuse-Kentucky final at age 11 on TV, and was elated when 'Cuse took the Championship in 2003. He is also a skilled film composer and arranger/songwriter, his work having been heard on CBC Radio, numerous jingles and the score for GO/NITRO.
Alastair is an award-winning news and sports broadcaster, with over 14 years of experience between the UK and Canada. He began his career at ITV Granada, covering one of the most exciting sporting patches in the world. It features Premier League football clubs, Open Championship golf courses and leading boxing gyms, to name but a few. Alastair reported from the Olympics in Beijing, UFC 100 in Las Vegas, a Super Bowl and multiple baseball World Series. His interview highlights included Pele, Jack Nicklaus and BA Baracus! In 2012, Alastair crossed the Atlantic and joined CTV in Barrie, Ontario where he was once again the face of weekday sports for a North American audience. Alastair coaches various sports teams in his local community, and helpfully for this role, loves trying new sports and finding out more about the ones he already knows.
