SKYCRON Speed Trials
Efficiency is a big part of what we do. One of the things that makes SKYCRON unique is that we drill all our staff on a regular basis, to improve their set up time. The faster and more accurately Skycron teams set up, the better we are at serving our clients.
In an age where so many things seem to be taking a dip professionally, that’s an area we NEVER skimp on. (Not that we skimp on anything, anyway.) We make sure that professionalism is absolutely paramount. Our setup time is much faster than many television networks (which is where our crews started our careers).
Today, in Frankville, Ontario, Skycron held its normal time trials. We thought it would be something we’d want to share on our blog.
Bi-monthly, we earmark an entire day (with lots of food) and head out to Ontario farmland to set up all our television and video equipment, and then we time our staff. This keeps our crew sharp. Monty, one of our resident horses, is a staple of the Time Trial shoots.
Now, you might think our Setup Time Trials might be stressful and dreaded. Not so! We always have music and it is a casual, low stress environment. There is lots of cheering involved.
Joe Tatone, one of Skycron’s senior staff members and our newest team member Sam O’Hara managed to get a broadcast setup (tripod, dolly and Sony EX3 rig with transmitter out) to an awesome 45 seconds. Don’t just take our word for it, though:
